Animal Habitats

Our 2nd grade Quest students have been learning all about animals and their habitats. This unit of study has really helped our students learn about different species of animals, how they adapt and survive in the wild, where they live in the world, and so much more. Each student chose an animal of their choice and became an animal expert. After each student created and presented a slide show about their animals, we took a field trip to the Hattiesburg Zoo where we learned all about some interesting animals that are native from various places around the world. Here are some pictures from our trip. We had a great time and made many wonderful memories.

Quest Garden Celebration

Quest classes have been growing a spring garden and learning all about what it takes to raise fresh and healthy vegetables. The garden contains tomatoes, lettuce, spinach, yellow squash, collards, cabbage, bell peppers, and a variety of herbs. The garden has helped students see first hand where real food comes from. As an end of the year harvest celebration, the students came together and created their own salad. The students were so impressed with how fresh the salad tasted, and how easy it was to grow the vegetables themselves. We’re looking forward to continuing to grow seasonal vegetables in our garden each year, and raise awareness for healthy lifestyles.
