Star Party 2018

Our Quest students and parents enjoyed an evening of star gazing, and learning so much about the planets and stars that make beautiful constellations in our night sky. We would like to thank, Dr. John Grant and Bill Nix for coming out, setting up the telescopes, and informing us on new and interesting facts about our galaxy. We had a great time and look forward to the next

Red Leaf, Yellow Leaf
By: Lois Ehlert

After reading Red Leaf, Yellow Leaf By: Lois Ehlert students learned the technique of leaf rubbing and created beautiful masterpieces. Check out our class video below.

Quest Goes to NASA

Mrs. Holly Johnson’s 2nd grade Quest students have been learning about space and the many things that make up our Solar System and galaxy. Upon completing a unit entitled, “Mission Space”, the Quest students traveled to The Infinity Science Center at Stennis, and toured the NASA test sites where the rocket engines are tested. The students have enjoyed this unit of study and many have even said they want to be an astronaut when they grow up, and travel to Mars.

Garden News

Our 2nd grade Quest classes have worked hard to get our fall and winter vegetables in the ground and ready for harvest within the next several months. Students have learned all about what it takes to care for plants, and how to properly plant them so that they will be productive plants. We have planted kale, collards, cabbage, and bok choi. These plants were started from seed and donated to us by Dr. John Braswell, retired horticulturist with MSU extension services. We are looking forward to observing the growth process and harvesting these healthy vegetables. After harvesting, we will prepare a feast for sampling how these vegetables can be a part of our everyday diet.
